21,000 names now on DHS terrorist watch list

The secret government “no fly list” of suspected “terrorists” who are banned from flying to or within the United States more than doubled in 2011, according to figures obtained by the Associated Press.

The figures show that the list now contains around 21,000 names, close to 11,000 more than it did just one year ago.

The government contends that there are less than 500 American citizens named on the list.

The exponential growth in names added to the list is said to have been sparked by the failed underpants bombing incident on Christmas Eve 2009.

An anonymous U.S. counterterrorism official told the AP that after the 2009 incident, a new standard was set meaning someone no longer has to be considered a threat only to aviation to be placed on the no-fly list. People who are considered a broader threat to domestic or international security can also be added, the official stated.

Crops being sprayed with MSG, glutamic acid as chemical growth enhancers

(NaturalNews) Many Natural News readers know of government requirements for irradiating raw almonds and herbs, destroying their nutritional value, under the guise of food safety. This and pasteurizing milk are but two examples of how federal agencies are destroying our food’s nutrition.

Not so many health conscious consumers know of crops being sprayed with the essence of MSG, glutamic acid or free glutamates. Emerald BioAgriculture got EPA approval to allow use of their growth enhancer AuxiGro on crops in all states. They are trying to get approval for using AuxiGro on organic crops as well (http://www.naturalnews.com/026157_MSG_food_organic.html).

The USDA’s certified organic seal only qualifies the method of agriculture used. The certification doesn’t cover crops after they are harvested, and USDA certification offers no guarantee of the absence of GMO contamination or MSG.

Despite numerous studies showing the danger of fluoride and cities and municipalities deciding to no longer poison their citizens with the neurotoxin, officialdom in New Jersey has moved to add it to the state’s water.

Disregarding the warnings of environmentalists and utility officials, New Jersey’s Health Committee, at the behest of Assemblyman Herb Conaway, a Camden Democrat, has required the state’s water companies to add fluoride.

President Barack Obama claimed in his third State of the Union address that he supported a policy of “no bailouts, no handouts, and no copouts.” But he said this after he had outlined more than half a dozen new spending handout proposals in a speech that also praised bailouts. On taxes, Obama concluded of retaining outrageously high middle-class tax rates and increasing the tax rates on the rich: “That’s how we’ll reduce our deficit.”

“It’s time to apply the same rules from top to bottom: No bailouts, no handouts, and no copouts. An America built to last insists on responsibility from everybody,” Obama told Congress in his January 24 prime time speech to a joint session of Congress. “We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number of Americans barely get by. Or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules.”

Though Obama claimed he didn’t want any more bailouts, he touted the supposed success of past federal government bailouts in the State of the Union address. “Today, General Motors is back on top as the world’s number one auto maker,” Obama boasted of the auto bailout he worked to get adopted back in early 2009. “We bet on American ingenuity, and tonight the American auto industry is back.” Obama had also supported passage of the TARP bailout bill in October 2008 and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act “Stimulus” bill in 2009, and in last year’s State of the Union address he heavily promoted a new stimulus bill (though he didn’t label it “stimulus”).

Obama also proposed new spending — or entirely new programs — where government picks winners and losers in the marketplace. One example of Obama’s proposal was to continue government subsidy of so-called “clean energy” programs: “Government support is critical in helping businesses get new energy ideas off the ground.” Obama has apparently learned nothing from the $500 million Solyndra disaster.

Too Much Radiation to Cover Up
As I’ve pointed out since day one, the Japanese government and Tepco have covered up the extent of the radiation released by Fukushima and its health effects on the Japanese and others.

The New York Times notes:
many experts coming to believe that officials have understated or even covered up the true extent of the public health risk in order to limit both the economic damage and the size of potential compensation payments
Critics say … the government can no longer pull the wool over the public’s eyes, as they contend it has done routinely in the past.

The Japan Times reports:
The government buried a worst-case scenario for the Fukushima nuclear crisis that was drafted last March and kept it under wraps until the end of last year, sources in the administration said Saturday.
“The content was so shocking that we decided to treat it as if it didn’t exist,” a senior government official said.

(NaturalNews) It seems almost too absurd to be true, but in the land of leviathan government, where the layers of bureaucracy are so intertwined it is impossible to navigate them, comes the revelation that the U.S. government has now taken to fining companies for not using a required product that doesn’t even exist.

In 2011 scores of oil companies had to pay a total of $6.8 million in fines because they didn’t mix a special type of biofuel into their gasoline and diesel fuels. It wasn’t that the companies were trying to escape the requirement; it’s just that, outside of a few labs and workshops, the product – cellulosic biofuel – is a myth.

The substance is made from wood chips and inedible parts of corn cobs. The government, in its infinite wisdom, required oil refineries to blend in 6.6 million gallons of cellulosic biofuel into gasoline and diesel fuel last year, and 8.65 million gallons this year. But since there is no cellulosic biofuel to be had, oil companies can expect to have to pay more in fines in 2012.

And you wonder why, despite falling demand, you are still paying three bucks a gallon for gas (and more for diesel).
