(NaturalNews) When times get tough, many people cope by flocking to their favorite “comfort” foods that make them feel good, and that are perceived as being affordable. And this appears to be precisely why fast food giant McDonald’s has posted record revenues for this past year, according to a recent report by the UK’s Telegraph.

McDonald’s raked in a record $27 billion this past year, which is good news for the chain as it prepares to open 1,300 new stores around the world this year. Reports indicate that McDonald’s profits have been steadily increasing since the 1990s, in fact, and particularly during times of economic crisis when many families are cutting back on expenditures.

Though McDonald’s food is not actually as inexpensive as it seems — paying five-to-seven dollars for a meal with such poor nutritional value can hardly be considered a bargain — many people perceive it as such. And as a result, sales of favorites like Big Macs, French fries, and now lattes and espressos at many of its McCafe stores, have continued to rise.

McDonald’s has come a long way in modernizing its menus and revamping its look to appear healthier and more trendy. And yet its chicken McNuggets, for instance, are still made with “mechanically separated chicken,” which is a disgusting meat paste that almost looks like a type of pink soft serve dessert (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/04/mechanically-separated-meat-chicken-mcnugget-photo_n_749893.html).

(NaturalNews) “Will vaccinate my baby for food!” That seems to be the goal of a program launched last year by the UnitedHealthcare health insurance company of Michigan. It has resorted to enticing parents with junk food to convince them to inject their infants with potentially deadly vaccines containing brain-damaging chemicals. This has been revealed in a letter acquired by NaturalNews and signed by Stephanie Esters, a vaccine-pushing RN who works for UnitedHealthcare.

The letter declares “Get a FREE $20 McDonalds, Rite Aid, Target or Meijer Gift Card when your child gets recommended shots before their second birthday.” It even goes on to offer a “FREE ride to the doctor” for those who are so poor that they don’t own cars.

(NaturalNews) Food commodity prices have been on the rise over the past two years, which means food retailers, vendors, and restauranteurs have had to figure out creative ways to absorb these added costs while still offering quality products that their customers can afford. But it looks like 2012 will be a definitive year where these costs are directly passed on to consumers, as a new survey indicates that most restaurants will be raising their menu prices this year.

Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN) recently released its 2012 Restaurant Operators Survey, which includes data on pricing strategies from more than 150 restaurant respondents. The report explains that 67 percent of restauranteurs plan to raise their menu prices this year, while 64 percent say they will specifically raise their prices between one and three percent.

Of those who said they would raise their prices, 31 percent said they would raise them as high as six percent. And six percent of those who said they would raise their prices indicated that they would do so by more than six percent. Only two percent of respondents said they planned to lower their menu prices.

Uploaded to YouTube.com/TheResistance with permission from witness who shot this video, Uncklebuck1. Thanks brother. The government and mainstream media laugh at people who are prepared for a disaster with long term storable food and supplies, but they spend countless billions building and stocking their D.U.M.B.S. Deep Underground Military Bases. There is an entire chapter in The Resistance Manifesto by Mark Dice detailing D.U.M.B.S. and TBMs, Tunnel Boarding Machines, and the underground tunnel system that spans the country, if not the world.

When the Associated Press reported this week that an owner of Jensen Farms was being fined by the U.S. Department of Labor for failing to provide safe migrant worker housing, I must admit even I was a bit shocked. Could it be that an owner of a business that allowed a deadly fecal bacterium, Listeria, to coat its product would treat its employees like crap, too?

Well, apparently yes. It seems that Eric Jensen, the Colorado Cantaloupe grower whose product caused an outbreak that sickened 146 people and killed 30 (by my count 32), rented migrant workers unsanitary, overcrowded rooms at a motel he owns. Inspectors said many rooms lacked beds, laundry facilities and smoke detectors. Jensen now faces a whopping $4,250 in civil penalties. As the Labor Department’s Denver director said:

Salmonella Enteritidis infections centered in Texas and Oklahoma, but also spread over 8 other states, sickened 68 people who ate at a Mexican-style fast food restaurant chain in October and November, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday.

The CDC did not identify the restaurant chain, nor did it explain why it was reporting this outbreak for the first time now, nearly two months after it occurred. The investigation report was labeled “final update,” although it was also the first announcement of the multistate outbreak.

No specific food or ingredient was determined to be responsible for the illnesses. The CDC said investigators concluded that whatever the food source was, it likely was contaminated before it reached the fast-food restaurant outlets.

Unidentified Restaurants:

This isn’t the first time a CDC investigation report did not reveal the name of a restaurant chain associated with customer illnesses. In August, 2010, the federal public-health agency reported 155 people sick in two multistate outbreaks of Salmonella Hartford and Salmonella Baildon infections.

(NaturalNews) Did you know that wild rice isn’t really rice? It’s actually a type of grass seed. Did you know that many bottled, flavored “tea” beverages contain no tea at all? Or that soy protein is made using a highly explosive chemical solvent that can be used to manufacture bombs? These and hundreds of other amazing food facts are revealed in the new “Amazing Food Fact Machine” just launched by Natural News.

The Amazing Food Fact Machine is available now at: http://www.naturalnews.com/AmazingFoodFactMachine.asp

“It’s surprising how little people really know about the food they eat,” explained Mike Adams, the editor of Natural News. “In creating the Amazing Food Fact Machine, we wanted to give both children and adults a fun, educational way to learn some astonishing things about where food comes from, how it’s made and what’s missing from it by the time it gets to your dinner table.”
